The underlying method is described in a framework we published on Zenodo (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.23103048).

Buyers provide the domain this order relates to and a short brief describing the recording and research question.

Mapping brain states on two axes

This analysis places your EEG recording on a two-dimensional plane built from sync and coverage values, based on a framework we published on Zenodo. Standard synchrony measures such as coherence, PLV, wPLI or AEC cannot tell apart two very different brain states that can produce the same high synchrony reading: coordinated, functional activity seen in meditation or conscious cognition, and pathological high synchrony seen in epileptic discharges, burst suppression or disorders of consciousness. Adding a coverage dimension lets us separate these patterns rather than lump them together.

Where this is useful

  • Consciousness and meditation research
  • Disorders of consciousness, including vegetative and minimally conscious states
  • Anaesthesia-related brain state transitions
  • General neurophysiology and brain dynamics work
  • EEG connectivity, coherence and synchrony studies
  • EEG time-series and oscillation research
  • Neuroimaging analysis for academic projects

What you receive

A scatter plot showing where your recording falls on the sync × coverage plane, set against a reference cloud built from 111 published subjects covering meditation, disorders-of-consciousness and anaesthesia datasets. This comes with a written interpretation describing which published pattern your data most resembles, plus high-resolution PNG versions of every figure.

Data requirements

  • File format: EDF, BDF or BrainVision
  • Sampling rate of at least 100 Hz
  • Recording length of at least 5 minutes
  • At least 16 recording channels

Turnaround is 5 business days for the Basic tier. If you are uncertain whether your file meets these requirements, message us before ordering.

Scope and limits

This service is intended for academic research and does not constitute clinical diagnosis. We do not supply source code, calculation scripts or algorithm parameters. You must hold the legal rights to any EEG data you upload, and raw recordings are not kept permanently once your report is delivered.

What happens after you buy

Your order opens its own thread here the moment it is paid, and everything about that order - questions, changes and the final report - happens in it.

Questions people ask

What EEG file formats do you accept?

We accept EDF, BDF and BrainVision files (vhdr, eeg and vmrk). If your recording is in a different format, get in touch first and we will advise whether conversion is possible.

What if my recording is shorter than 5 minutes?

Our metrics need a minimum of 5 minutes of continuous recording. If yours falls short, message us before ordering so we can check whether a partial analysis makes sense.

Do you keep my data after the analysis?

No. Your uploaded file is removed within 7 days of delivery and is never shared, published, or reused for other purposes.

What if I am not satisfied with the result?

If there is a technical error in the analysis, we will correct it at no charge. Requests for further interpretation count as a revision, with 1 included in the Basic package and 2 in the Standard package.

Can you tell me whether my subject is "conscious" or "enlightened"?

No. The service positions your recording on a two-axis plane and reports which published cohort it most closely matches. It is a descriptive comparison, not a diagnosis, and makes no claims about subjective experience.

Can you handle multiple subjects or longitudinal recordings?

Yes, up to 4 recordings can be processed within a single order on the Standard package or above, each analysed and reported separately. For larger batches, contact us so we can arrange a tailored package.
