JavaScript, React, Node.js and Next.js bug fixing

Website development · delivered in 2-6 days

We track down and repair faults in web applications and sites: forms and buttons that stop responding, broken login flows, layouts that have come apart, console errors, or a build that fails after an update. Work covers JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js on the backend, React and Next.js on the frontend, along with straightforward HTML, CSS and JS, and WordPress, including theme and plugin PHP. Shopify is not covered. Code that was written under time pressure or produced by AI tools is handled too.

  • Starter: one reproducible fault resolved, with a written explanation of its cause, one round of investigation, fix notes and a single revision
  • Standard: up to 3 faults resolved, with a written account of what was wrong and what was altered, investigation, fix notes, detailed code comments and 2 revisions
  • Advanced: up to 5 faults resolved, the same written account, a list of other issues spotted along the way, investigation, fix notes, detailed code comments and 3 revisions

If the person who built your project is no longer available, or you simply want the broken piece working again rather than paying for a full rebuild, this is the place to start. With over 10 years in IT, our approach is to touch only what the fault requires, leaving the rest of your codebase untouched.

The Starter tier addresses one reproducible fault and explains its cause. The Standard tier covers up to 3 faults and adds a written note of what was wrong and what was changed. The Advanced tier extends to 5 faults, keeps that written note, and also lists any other issues noticed while working inside the project. Where a fault cannot be reproduced from the steps given, or turns out larger than the chosen tier allows, this is flagged before work begins rather than left to overrun.

Technology covered: JavaScript and TypeScript, React and Next.js on the frontend, Node.js on the server, plain HTML, CSS and JS, and WordPress. Shopify is excluded. Older setups are welcome, including class-based React components, the Next.js Pages Router, and earlier Node releases; if a repair calls for a version upgrade, that is raised before any changes are made. On WordPress, theme and plugin conflicts, PHP errors within themes or plugins, and post-update breakages are all within scope. Where the root cause lies in WordPress core or a third-party plugin, it is not altered directly; instead a workaround is built into your theme or a small custom plugin, and if that route is not viable, you are told before any work starts.

What is needed from you: access to the repository or a copy of the project files, plus clear reproduction steps covering what you click, what you expect and what actually happens. A staging link is useful, and for fixes applied to a live site, deployment access is also required. Access provided is used solely for this task, and signing a non-disclosure agreement is not a problem.

Ownership of the fix rests with you: whatever the delivery method, every changed line is available for your review. Should anything not perform as agreed after handover, it is corrected at no extra charge.

Communication stays in writing throughout. On projects spanning several days, you receive a written update at the close of each day, with prompt replies and no phone calls.

How the work proceeds: first, the fault is reproduced from your steps before any change is made; if it will not reproduce, or proves bigger than the tier allows, you hear the same day so a decision can be made early. Next, the underlying cause is traced through the code path rather than stopping at the symptom, and you receive this in writing. The fix is then applied and checked against your original steps and any existing project tests, with any other issues spotted along the way noted rather than quietly altered. Delivery follows your preference: a pull request, a patch file, or the change applied directly to your live site, with Standard and Advanced tiers including the written summary. Finally, a short written note per fault covers the cause, the change made, and how to verify it yourself, with daily updates provided on longer jobs.

What happens after you buy

Your order opens its own thread here the moment it is paid, and everything about that order - questions, changes and the final report - happens in it.

Questions people ask

What if the bug can't be reproduced?

Reproducibility is checked against your steps before any work starts, and you are told the same day. If it cannot be reproduced, next steps are agreed before anything is billed; the clock is never run out on a fix that cannot be made.

Which stacks do you work?

JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, plain HTML, CSS and JS, and WordPress, including theme and plugin PHP. Older versions of these are also supported.

What counts as a revision vs. A new request?

A revision adjusts the fix already delivered. A separate fault counts as a new item, either through an add-on or a new order.

Do you take calls?

No calls are taken. Everything is handled in writing through the project messages, with fast replies.
