Knowledgebase: Can I Change the CDN Provider for My Domain?

Want to change the CDN you are using for a domain? Here's how!

Yes — you can change the CDN provider for any domain on PBN LTD at any time. Whether you're switching for SSL support, compatibility with www., or simply experimenting with different configurations, the process is straightforward.

Below are the steps to follow, depending on whether the domain already has a live site or is freshly added.

✅ If Your Domain Already Has a Live Website on PBN LTD:

To change the CDN for an existing site, follow these steps carefully:

  1. Create a Manual Backup
Log into your PBN LTD dashboard, select the domain, and create a full backup of your website. Be sure to download the backup to your local device for safekeeping.

  2. Delete the Site
In the dashboard, delete the current site. Don’t worry—your content is safe in the backup file you just downloaded.

  3. Re-add the Domain
Go back to the “Add Site” section and enter the domain again. When prompted, select your desired CDN provider (Cloudflare, BunnyCDN, KeyCDN, or CDN77).

  4. Update Nameservers
If the new CDN uses different nameservers, you’ll be shown the updated ones after setup. Make sure to update your registrar accordingly.

  5. Restore Your Website
Once the new environment is ready, go to the Backups tab for the domain and upload the file from Step 1. Restore the backup to bring your site back online.

🆕 If You Just Added the Domain (No Site Yet):

If the domain is new and doesn’t have a website yet, simply:

  1. Delete the Domain from your PBN LTD dashboard.

  2. Re-add the Domain, choosing your preferred CDN when prompted.

  3. Update the Nameservers at your domain registrar if new ones are provided.

No backup is needed in this case, since no site was installed yet.

🔒 Notes:

  • Changing CDNs does not delete your subscription or affect billing.

  • You must always update the nameservers after re-adding the site, or the CDN won't work.

  • If you encounter any issues during the process, don’t hesitate to submit a support ticket — we’re happy to help!
