Knowledgebase: DNS Resolution & Important Considerations

Domain still 'Waiting DNS update?' discover the most common causes, standard DNS resolution times and how to resolve this issue in 100% of cases!

When you update the nameservers for a domain, it can take up to 48 hours, and in rare cases up to 72 hours, for DNS to fully propagate across the internet. If you’ve recently changed the nameservers, please allow this timeframe to pass before assuming there’s an issue.

⚠️ Please Note: DNS Propagation Is Not Controlled by PBN LTD

DNS resolution and propagation are controlled by global DNS systems, ISPs, and domain registrars. This process is entirely outside of our control. While we manage your hosting and CDN integration, we do not influence how long DNS changes take to resolve across the internet.

🧠 Important Things to Check

✅ 1. Nameservers Are Correct

  • Confirm that the only nameservers added to your domain are the ones shown in your PBN LTD dashboard.

  • These are displayed directly under the domain name in the main site list of your dashboard.

  • There should be no additional nameservers—remove any that aren't provided by us.

❌ 2. DNSSEC Must Be Disabled

  • If DNSSEC is enabled at your domain registrar, it will block proper DNS propagation.

  • Be sure to disable DNSSEC for the domain.

  • Not sure how? You can:

    • Search Google (e.g., “Disable DNSSEC GoDaddy” or “DNSSEC Namecheap instructions”).

    • Or just ask ChatGPT—quick and easy!

🕒 3. CDN Zones Expire if NS Updates Are Too Late

If nameservers are not updated within two weeks of adding the domain:

  • Most CDN providers (Cloudflare, BunnyCDN, etc.) will automatically delete the domain zone.

  • To fix this:

    • Delete the domain from your PBN LTD dashboard

    • Re-add it, and the CDN zone will be redeployed

🔁 4. Domain Renewed Late? NS May Revert

If your domain was renewed after expiry, your registrar may automatically:

  • Revert the nameservers back to their default (registrar-controlled) values

To fix this:

  • Switch the nameservers back to the ones shown in your PBN LTD dashboard

  • The domain will show "Waiting DNS Update" again

  • Once the DNS resolves and the domain is back to "OK" state, but you're still seeing issues:

    • Visit the Backups tab and restore the latest backup—this often resolves any residual issues

    • If you're still having trouble, submit a support ticket

🔍 5. Registrar-Level Issues to Check For

If DNS still isn’t resolving, double-check for registrar issues such as:

  • Domain suspension

  • Pending verification or hold statuses

  • Recently expired or reclaimed domains

Not sure how to check these? You can:

  • Use your registrar’s help guides

  • Google it (e.g., “Check domain suspension on Namecheap”)

  • Or ask ChatGPT for guidance!

🛟 Still Not Resolving?

If you’ve checked:

✔️ Nameservers are correct
✔️ DNSSEC is disabled
✔️ No registrar-level issues
