Knowledgebase: Site In 'ERROR' State
How to quickly fix a domain in 'error' state.
When you add a domain to your PBN LTD dashboard, it moves through several status indicators to show where it is in the setup process. Understanding what each status means will help you know when everything is working—and when something needs your attention.
🔄 Normal Setup Flow
Your domain will typically pass through the following stages:

NEW – Domain has just been added to your dashboard

BUILDING – The system is setting everything up behind the scenes

WAITING DNS UPDATE – Domain is ready and waiting for you to update the nameservers

ACTIVATING CDN – DNS has resolved and the CDN is being configured
-
OK – Everything is live and working correctly
❗ What Does “Error” State Mean?
If your domain enters an “Error” state, it means something went wrong during setup or routine management. However, the cause is usually minor—and in many cases, your site is still live and working normally.
Common, non-critical causes for the error status include:

A failed WordPress update

A temporary conflict during plugin/theme updates

A minor sync issue with the server
🟢 In most cases, the site remains accessible and functional, even while showing as "Error" in the dashboard.
🔁 If the Error Occurred Right After Adding the Domain
This is typically due to a build hiccup and can be resolved by reinstalling the domain:

Click on the domain name in your dashboard

In the Site Overview screen, open the “Site Functions” menu on the left

Click “Reinstall”
🔧 This will restart the setup process from scratch and resolves most setup errors quickly and safely.
🛑 If the Domain Was Already in “OK” and Then Went to “Error”
Do not reinstall in this case. This kind of error is usually simple to resolve and may require a quick check from our support team.
Instead:

Open a support ticket so we can investigate

We’ll diagnose and fix the issue—usually in just a few minutes
⚠️ While rare, severe cases (such as a site infected with malware) could affect visibility. If your site appears offline, mention that in your ticket so we can prioritize the investigation.
