Knowledgebase: How to update your Nameservers
How can I update the Name-servers on my domain
Once you’ve added a domain to the dashboard, our system will automatically display the nameservers you need to use—you’ll find them listed directly beneath the domain name in your main dashboard view.
🧭 Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Log in to your domain registrar (e.g. GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.)
-
Locate your domain in your registrar’s control panel
-
Navigate to the DNS or nameserver settings section
-
Replace any existing nameservers with the ones provided by us
-
Save your changes
💡 Not sure how to do it on your provider’s platform? Just Google:
“How do I update nameservers on [Registrar Name]”
Example: “How do I update nameservers GoDaddy”
You'll usually find a step-by-step article from the registrar's official help center.
🚫 Common Mistakes to Avoid
-
Only update the nameservers.
If you're being asked for IP addresses or DNS records, you're likely in the wrong section. You must update the nameservers, not add custom A or CNAME records. -
Use only the nameservers provided.
Do not mix or add additional nameservers. Enter only the ones displayed in your PBN.LTD dashboard for that domain. -
Make sure DNSSEC is disabled.
If DNSSEC is enabled in your registrar’s panel, it will prevent DNS from propagating correctly.
⏱️ How Long Does DNS Take to Resolve?
DNS changes don’t take effect instantly. Once you’ve updated the nameservers at your registrar, propagation begins.
Expected DNS resolution times:
-
Cloudflare: Usually resolves in under 5 minutes
-
AWS / Azure DNS: May take a few hours
-
Standard range: Typically up to 48 hours
-
Rare cases: Propagation can take up to 72 hours
⛔ We cannot speed up DNS propagation.
This process is controlled by global DNS infrastructure and your domain registrar—not by us. Please avoid submitting support tickets asking for faster resolution.
🛠️ Additional Notes
-
Once DNS is resolved, the domain’s status in your dashboard will change from “Waiting DNS Update” to “Activating CDN”, and then finally to “OK”
-
✅ “OK” status means your domain is live, DNS is fully resolved, and SSL (if selected) is issued
-
If you’ve recently updated nameservers and it hasn’t been 48–72 hours yet, just sit tight—it’s likely still propagating
⚠️ If it’s been more than 72 hours, or if you're unsure whether you updated nameservers correctly, feel free to reach out to support—we’re happy to help!
