Knowledgebase: Automatic Admin Login (SSO) not working

I have moved a website to your hosting myself or extracted a pre made template. The one click admin login is now not working for this website. How can I fix it?

The One Click Admin Login (SSO) feature in your PBN LTD dashboard lets you access your WordPress site without entering a username or password. But in some cases—especially after restoring backups or moving a site—the login may stop working.

Here’s how to get it working again based on your specific setup.

✅ Scenario 1: You Just Added a New Domain (No Backup Restored)

If you just added a domain and haven't restored anything yet:

  1. Click on the site name from your main dashboard overview screen.

  2. You’ll see the “One Click Login” option here.

  3. Click it—if it doesn’t work right away, refresh the page and try again.

  4. Still not working? Clear your browser cache fully, then try once more.

🧠 Pro Tip: Incognito mode won’t always help if the page is cached—you must properly clear your browser cache.

🔁 Scenario 2: You Restored a Backup (e.g. Migrated From Another Host)

Restoring a backup from another host overwrites our default WP installation, which breaks the One Click Login. But there’s a simple fix:

Step 1 – Create a Manual Backup

  • Click on the site name from your dashboard.

  • In the left-hand menu, go to “Site Functions” and choose “Create Backup”.

  • Wait for the backup to complete.

Step 2 – Restore That Backup

  • In the left-hand menu, go to “Site Details” > “Backups”.

  • Find your manual backup.

  • Click the Restore button (it looks like a play ▶️ icon).

  • This will clean out leftover data from your previous install and properly restore our helper plugin.

🔧 Most Important: Do NOT Disable the Auto Login Plugin!

The PBN Login Helper plugin is what makes the One Click Login work. If it’s deactivated, the SSO login won’t function.

If you’ve accidentally deactivated it, here’s how to fix it manually:

  1. Visit your domain’s WordPress admin login page by going to:
    yourdomain.com/wp-admin/

  2. Log in manually using the username and password shown in your PBN LTD dashboard (click on the site name to view them in the overview screen).

  3. Once inside your WordPress admin:

    • Click on Plugins from the left-hand menu.

    • Use the plugin search bar to look for "autologin".

    • This plugin is intentionally hidden to prevent accidental deactivation—you must search for it to reveal it.

    • Once found, click Activate.

✅ The One Click Login will now work again from your PBN LTD dashboard.

🧠 Other Things to Keep in Mind

  • Your domain’s status must show “OK” in the dashboard for login to work. If it says “Waiting DNS update”, the DNS isn’t fully propagated yet.

  • Don’t use plugins or custom settings that modify login URLs or disable plugin functionality.

  • Some browser extensions (like redirect blockers or script filters) can also interfere—try disabling them if you're having trouble.
